Verbal English requires the good grammar
and pronunciation followed by intonation, syllable stressing etc. Phonetics
which depicts the sound is also very important to learn this Verbal English in
its fullest form. Mere listening is not enough to master the verbal English
practicing the pronunciation is very important. The more you practice the more
you can conquer English. There are different accents like US, UK and other
regional accents. Neutral would be sufficient to communicate and be perceived
by the receiver.
One has to be very careful in
this verbal mode of communication. Once the word is said, it is said. It cannot
be taken back. Verbal English is used as a common mode of expression.
Elocutions Debates, Seminars, Group Discussions, Public Speaking etc. require
good verbal English presentation.
Written English requires that
your grammar is good and the thoughts and theories are expressed in sentences
and words on paper. It may be handwritten or print. The main purpose of the
written English has to be legible and understood by the reader.
Written English has the advantage
to check grammatical errors and edit sentences before presenting. This can be
stored for future reference. Matter presented in Documents, Books, News papers,
Magazines is an example of written English.
Conventional English: This is the
English with specified terms used in each sphere. Every sphere is bound by some
common terms which are used frequently. The whole subject matter revolves
around those specific terms as defined in the directory of that particular
industry.
For example the biological terms
and physics terms which only the pursuing or masters of that particular sphere
understand. It seems to be Greek and Latin to those who are not aware of the
subject.
Functional English: This is the
English used to communicate the actual purpose in brief or detail depending
upon the necessity. Communicating the idea is the key objective here. This
English is necessary in Business Management, Inter regional trade and commerce.
It breaks the barriers of regions and continents, enhancing the global
relations.
This English has become vital in
Education, Career and Progress and is most important for an individual to reach
the zenith.
